We’re Maya and Elise, two sisters who traded office chairs for aeroplane seats. Welcome to The Roaming Sisters, your travel guide to meaningful, budget-friendly adventures.

Our love for travel started early with family road trips, but it truly blossomed when we took a gap year to explore South America. Since then, we’ve visited 30+ countries and created this blog to share our experiences, practical tips, and destination guides with fellow wanderers.

Our blog is for travelers who crave authentic cultural experiences without breaking the bank. We focus on immersive travel  learning a few phrases in the local language, sampling home-cooked meals, and walking neighborhoods where no tour bus goes.
